Year 9 student Emerson Yang has been awarded the prestigious title of Athlete of the Month for his outstanding performance as an point guard in the 2024 HS (High School) Boys Basketball team. His team contributions have been extraordinary, making him a revered figure on the court.
Emerson’s talent and skills as a shooter and point guard set him apart from his peers. With agility, speed and precise technique, he wowed opponents with his layups. His court vision and quick decision-making ensure his team remains competitive.
Emerson’s impact extends beyond his individual performance. Regardless of his age, he is a natural leader who inspires his teammates through his dedication to the team. Whether in practice or during a game, he acts as a leader and pushes his teammates to perform at their best. His selfless attitude and willingness to support his teammates fosters a strong sense of connection within the team and contributes to their overall success.
His talent in basketball was on full display at GISSA, where his skills and level of composure on the court set him apart from his peers, and he pulled off a high-flying shutout in the final moments of the game.

“Basketball is like life, life can’t stop, so basketball training can’t stop either.” He also mention “We are improving every game. At the beginning of the season, we kept losing. But as the season progressed, we gradually won more wins. In the PRC game, we even completed a decisive victory. All this indicates that we will become better”.
